The history
Since the VIII century documents mention a “cortem magnam nomina Gabianam”. In 1164 in the Castle, the emperor Federico 1st gives the coveted investiture to the marquise Guglielmo II of Monferrato. From then, because of the strategic and economical importance of the Castle and of its district, starts the fight for its possession. The feud goes to the Montiglio, the Gonzaga, up to Ferdinando of Mantova that in 1622 gives the castle to Agostino Durazzo. Later becomes an important centre of culture and enological activity by the wills of the Marquise Carlotta Cattaneo Adorno.
The Suites
The Guest House is situated In the medieval village of the Manor with three large suites dipped in a timeless residence.
The Garden
The Castle has got inside fabulous courtyards with wells and many medieval views and the labyrinth.
